Chronic illness is no fun. If you're here, you already know that.

Iā€™m Julia, and I've been living with chronic illness for more than a decade. My doctors are fantastic, my husband is beyond supportive, my friends are helpful and delightful, and it is still a struggle to get through every single day. This site is here to share the rants, resources, reviews, and ruminations I've created in my time as an angry invalid.

Comparison Shopping for Medical Care?

SaveOnMedical.com, a website designed to help patients comparison-shop for medical treatments, launched earlier this year. Interesting article in the Boston Globe describes some users' success stories and discusses other companies in the field, like ClearHealthCosts.com. The idea of demystifying treatment prices, especially for diagnostic procedures like MRIs, CAT scans, and lab work, is very appealing. No experience with any of these services myself, as my insurance is very network-provider-focused (on the upside, it has a low deductible). Any thoughts?
