New Approaches to Chronic Pain
In today's Boston Globe, Felice Freyer writes about an innovative pain management program at the Spaulding Outpatient Center in Medford, Massachusetts. With a focus on functional restoration, the program combines physical and occupational therapy with group work and targeted exercise. The program has a long waiting list, but the hope is that other health providers will develop this kind of multifaceted approach to helping people living with chronic pain.
This is part of an ongoing series on chronic pain that Freyer has been working on for some months. All the articles are well worth a look!
